A truly excellent PPB.
I’ve long been an advocate of a “fighting for you” strategy – one that emphasises the choice at the next election, puts plainly whats at stake, and states whose side Labour is, and has always been, and putting that choice at the heart of the election campaign.
Tonights PPB puts that that fight in moving historical context.
Now we have to show that what we fight for now stands with that history – that though Britain has changed so much, become richer, more diverse, more hectic, that the battles and choices of today are just as important as the fights of the last century.
Moving as it might be, it harks back to a Labour party that got respect and understanding from it’s political opponents.
All that is long gone the Labour party of Blair and Brown has no integrity, no morality and nothing but hate and vitriol.
Too many scandals, the changing of the rules for the political elite e.g. Patricia Scotland, Lord Ahmed out of prison after 16 days. The there’s Smeargate and McBride/Draper/Collins.
The rigging of the Parliamentary Standards Committee for Jacqui Smith.
Under Callaghan, Healey the PPB would have some meaning and integrity, under Brown is just so much cynical desparation to cling on to power from the most useless Chancellor and PM in our history
I do love that video, it’s cheddar but mustard.
Whether or not Gordy goes down as the worst PM in history is for history to decide.
Him as the worst Chancellor is pretty desperate. He’s probably the best chancellor we’ve ever had.
And Georgy Boy will make a pretty strong claim to being the worst
“and states whose side Labour is, and has always been”
Fake charities and quangoes, you mean? Because it sure as shhhhh … ugar isn’t the working man.
Great video … if it was at all relevant to working people of 2009 who have just seen Labour screw them over time and again.
Just a thought, but it might explain the polls?
This PPB is interesting , and seems to be implying a sharp turn left as does the Queens speech.
Bad news for tax payers .
( seen Tory Bear`s version….titter )
